Frequently asked questions about personalised glasses
1. What is the most durable imprint for personalised glasses?
The most durable imprint techniques for glassware are faux etch, ceramic transfer and laser engraving. i. Laser engraving uses computer controlled laser beams to engrave the print into the material, which creates depth in the imprint. ii. With faux etch or imitation etching, the logo or text is printed by means of screen printing with a special transparent/white paint on transfer paper called a heat release. After drying a cover coat is applied to the printed glasses. This cover coat ensures that all logo and text parts are simultaneously included during the transfer to the glass. During the burning of the transfer, the cover coat disappears due to the heat. iii. With a ceramic transfer, transfer sheets are provided with a screen print using special ceramic ink. The printed transfer sheets are then cut to size and applied to the branded glassware. The products then go into the oven and the logo is burned in at a temperature of between 500 and 1300 °C. Other imprint techniques are also possible and can be a great option when printing in full color. But the three options mentioned above are the most durable ones for personalised glasses.2. Are all imprints on custom glasses dishwasher safe?
Both the laser engraved glasses, faux etches and the Ceramic transfers are very resistant to dishwasher cleaning. So if you want to make sure your promotional glasses stay in top shape, even after numerous drinks and washes, then go for one of these printing methods. Other forms of printing are also possible and while handling dishwashing for a certain amount of time, they are a little less suited then the techniques mentioned above.3. How do I keep promotional business glasses lasting long?
Printing your logo on glasses and bottles make it a very prominent piece of your internal branding and when dealing with visitors to your office. Both employees and visitors will be drinking out of those branded glasses. It’s therefor essential to keep them clean and lasting long. The best way to keep both the imprint and the glasses themselves in top condition is: i. Clean them by hand with a soft sponge and tepid water. Or use a delicate washing program on a low temperature. ii. Use just enough dishwashing soap or powder and don’t use to much. iii. Use dishwasher soap or powder that doesn’t contain bleach of chloride. iv. Add salt to soften the water in the dishwasher if needed v. Do a quick rinse with cold water after using the glass before you place it in the dishwasher. vi. Store the printed glasses safely and avoid scratching while storing.4. How do you ship the printed glasses?
Being a delicate material, we make extra sure to package the branded glassware neatly and thoroughly so it will survive the journey to you without any problems. We will label the boxes as being a breakable item and even if there are problems with the shipment, we will fix it for you with a replacement order.5. Can I print glasses in full color?
